Vintage Jakks BCA: The Rumble

Final Update: Sunday, May 23rd, 2010 at 10:15 p.m. EST

Welcome to Vintage Jakks BCA: The Rumble!  As you can see everything is ready to go and, despite earning a gate of, well, $0, the show is almost ready to begin!

The anticipation builds as the lucky person to draw number one heads to ringside.

Henry O. Godwinn and Goldust (with Marlena) are the first two entrants and get things started before the bell even rings.  Henry attacks Goldust from behind as he disrobes and the two exchange fists and turnbuckle shots to the head before entrant #3 appears.

It just so happens that Phineas I. Godwinn randomly drew number three earlier in the week.  However, in a pre-meditated move, he shockingly attempts to toss his cousin Henry over the top rope before coming to his senses.  The Godwinns then team together and lay a beatdown on Goldust to increase their chance for survival.

Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw arrives at #4 and quickly sides with the Arkansas hog farmers.  A 3-on-1 assault ensues and Goldust doesn't stand a chance.  His wife and manager, Marlena, looks on in horror at the destruction that unfolds right before her very eyes.  Goldust receives multiple vicious kicks to the head and is nearly eliminated.

When it rains, it pours, and in Goldust's case it was Noah's Ark-level bad.  The number five entrant is the mastodon Vader and he puts an end to Goldust's misery, but not before making it just a little bit worse.  He proceeds to bodyslam the glittery one and decks him with a mammoth clothesline for the first elimination of the night.*

With Goldust out of the picture, everyone gangs up on Vader and just as soon finds themselves scattered across the ring.  Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw sees Ahmed, #6, enter the squared-circle and lunges at him with a patented "Clothesline From Hell", but Ahmed ducks and returns the favor, sending J.H.B. to the f.l.o.o.r.  Vader escapes the Godwinn's double team and challenges Ahmed to a slugfest.  Ahmed changes face (almost literally!) by a left-right combo from Vader and is dropped across the top rope on his throat by the Godwinns.

The Ultimate Warrior charges to the ring as the number seven entrant and tackles Vader just as he is about to use the Godwinns' slop bucket on Ahmed's cranium.  Warrior rips the bucket from Vader's grasp and lays out Phineas with enough force to send the near-300 pounder over the top rope.  As Warrior poses for his fans, Vader tries to catch him at an inopportune time, but Warrior has come prepared and stops Vader in his tracks.

Ahmed and Warrior gain the advantage on their respective foes for the time being, but Crush enters the fray at #8 and assists Henry Godwinn in bringing down Ahmed.  Vader wraps his gloved paw around Warrior's neck and desperately seeks an elimination, but Warrior is able to ultimately escape the chokehold.  Meanwhile, Ahmed receives a swift kick to the temple courtesy of Henry's boot and Crush's handling.

"The King of Harts" Owen Hart courageously competes with a cast on his forearm as the number 9 draw, but all compliments are thrown out the window as soon as he uses it for his own benefit against Warrior and others.  He and his Camp Cornette stable mate, Vader, take turns wailing on Warrior's head, neck, ribs, and lower back while Ahmed struggles to contain Crush and/or Henry Godwinn.

There is no mistaking "The Loose Cannon" Brian Pillman for a mild-mannered individual, as the number 10 entrant hits the ring with a crutch used not for support, but suffering.  Owen and Vader restrain a beaten Warrior and Dr. Pillman administers a crutch-to-the-larynx treatment.  Ahmed has his hands full with Henry Godwinn and Crush, but he downs Crush and delivers a Pearl River Plunge with added intensity to Godwinn before we get to #11.

Razor Ramon takes his time getting to the ring as he witnesses an enraged Vader threatening to eliminate Pillman if he tries tossing out Warrior again.  Vader is determined to rid the Rumble of Warrior by himself and it doesn't look like anyone else will dare cross his path.  Ahmed battles with Owen Hart in one corner while Razor unloads on Crush in another with clubbing forearms and a knee to the gut.

The British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith is accompanied to the ring at #12 by James E. Cornette, a controversial decision which surely doesn't please Owen or Vader. Yet, Owen and Bulldog work together to keep Ahmed grounded; Vader puts his weight on Henry's surgically-repaired neck and then chucks him over the top rope thanks to a belly-to-belly suplex. After a devastating fallaway slam from Razor, Crush is pinned underneath the bottom turnbuckle and one of the refs at ringside checks on him.

Owen holds Ahmed while Bulldog lays into him with closed fists. Meanwhile, as Warrior and Pillman fight each other in the corner for the upper hand, Vader squashes the both of them. Bulldog has Ahmed up for a delayed vertical suplex as Owen looks on and Razor sets up Crush for a crowd(wherever they may be)-pleasing Razor's Edge.

Crush counters the Razor's Edge at the last minute with his lethal heart punch but, as he charges at a dazed Razor, he is backdropped over the top rope and to the floor below. Jerry "The King" Lawler creeps to the ring at #13 and waits patiently for an opportunity to present itself. Not long after, Mankind arrives as the fourteenth entrant with Paul Bearer at his side. The man of a thousand faces (it's a rough estimate) squares off with Razor while Owen and Bulldog make the save for Pillman who is hoisted high above Warrior's head. As per usual, Cornette fusses with and physically threatens the officials trying to do their job.

Lawler takes note of Vader's attempts to discard of Ahmed, and it seems that there is no concern for #15 Rocky Maivia until he makes a splash from the top rope, leveling Bulldog, Owen, and Pillman. Vader helps Lawler drive Ahmed's head into the mat with an impactful piledriver, and an unexpected elimination sequence takes place with Mankind holding on and dragging Razor out by the strength of the Mandible Claw!

One of the Rumble favorites, Bret "Hitman" Hart, enters at #16 and heads toward the Lawler/Vader tandem, but he is sidetracked by the efforts of Owen and Bulldog to eliminate Mankind. Vader almost has Ahmed in position for another elimination, but one slip-up costs him and Lawler goes for the kill, knocking Ahmed off the apron. Responding in a furious rage after Lawler takes credit for his work, Vader delivers several hard blows to "King" and forcibly removes him from the competition.

Not one to forget or forgive, Ahmed brawls with Lawler on the outside and administers a Pearl River Plunge to him through the announce table! Ahmed's work is done, but #17 "Double J" Jeff Jarrett has brought his guitar to the ring and he's ready to make some sweet music. It's a swing and a miss for Jarrett when he encounters Warrior and he nearly invokes his elimination clause less than a minute after entering. Bret and Vader officially face-off for the first time in the match, and Pillman continues to keep Rocky off his feet. In another corner of the ring, Bulldog closes in on knocking Mankind off the apron.

In a twist of sorts, Owen looked like he might attack his brother-in-law from behind, but he swiftly changed gears to nail Mankind with his cast and saves his explanation to Bulldog for later. Rocky hangs on the edge but is able to keep Pillman at bay long enough to return to safety. Despite everything they've done together, Owen and Bulldog bicker as Warrior comes between them. Flash Funk debuts at #18 and allows no breather for an already-winded Jarrett.

With the #19 draw, Savio Vega takes to challenging Owen Hart. Rocky and Flash mix it up with Pillman and Bulldog (respectively) in the same corner of the ring. Vader puts all of his limbs to good use as he chokes out Bret with his hand and Jarrett with his foot. Warrior catches a break while Pillman has anything but one due to a double dropkick from Flash and Rocky, which launches him out of the competition. Similarly, Savio risks a spinning heelkick against Owen, but it fails to pay off.

Owen later connects with one of his own, sending the former Nation member to the ring apron. Just as we saw before, but in reverse roles, Bulldog pounces on a limbering Savio to the dismay of Owen. However, for now, the two agree to collaborate against the united force of Rocky and Flash Funk. Entering at #20, Hunter Hearst Helmsley shows up with Chyna and wants to settle the score with Warrior once and for all. Others join in on the fray.

"Wildman" Marc Mero arrives sans-Sable at #21 and has no choice but to fight Jarrett with everyone else paired off. Vader has Bret teetering and soon is assisted by The Sultan at #22. Bulldog has Rocky detained, or so he thinks, before he falls backward and accidentally, or so we think, bumps Owen between the ropes. Owen views this as a threat and legitimately tries pulling Bulldog over the top rope!

Owen and Bulldog end up safe and are aware of competitors scouting their every move, which leads to quick reflexes by the team as Rocky and Flash charge at them. The makeshift duo tumbles over the top rope for a double elimination. Elsewhere, Chyna ignores the referee and holds her arms out to potentially save HHH as he clings on to the ropes. Also, Jarrett strikes his signature strut in front of Mero after emphatically knocking him to the mat.

Yokozuna commands everyone's attention at #23. Everyone's attention, that is, except Jarrett's. Yoko clobbers "Double J" mid-strut and slams him to a corner of the mat. Jarrett is crushed underneath the sheer weight of Yokozuna's Banzai Drop. After he scrapes Jarrett's remains off the mat, Yoko tosses the wanna-be country singer over the top rope for the next elimination.

Before Vader could challenge Yoko to a test of strength, Warrior steps in and lands a right hook to Vader's jaw. Bret keeps a distance between Owen and Bulldog and tries to talk some sense into the feuding family members. When Bret turns his back, Owen throws a sucker punch at his older brother. Bret retaliates and Bulldog tosses his partner out of the ring for good. Owen can't believe Davey Boy would stoop so low, and he warns Bret to lookout for the same to be done to him.

The lights go out and return as none other than The Undertaker is seen standing in the center of the ring as the 24th entrant. He takes on all comers and proceeds to chokeslam The Sultan, Marc Mero, and both HHH and Chyna before unloading haymakers on Yokozuna.

Taker is manhandled by three competitors until Yoko focuses on grounding HHH, then it's down to just Bret and Bulldog teaming against the Deadman. Stone Cold Steve Austin enters at #25 and just as soon stuns Taker as he does remove his vest! Austin talks his usual trash and then offers to help Yoko with a Banzai Drop to The Sultan. However, as Yoko's feet leave the middle rope, Austin pulls The Sultan out of the way and causes Yoko to fall awkwardly toward the mat. To further prove a point, he picks up his pawn and tosses The Sultan out to where manager Bob Backlund is standing.

Austin is cut down by Vader as Warrior looks on, and others attempt to clear some room from the cluttered canvas. Diesel raises his fist in the air as the number 26th entrant and has his sights set on taking out The Hitman. HHH drives his left shoulder into Mero's midsection as he dangles and falls off the apron. Warrior and Yoko have Austin and Taker (respectively) sandwiched between the ropes. With Diesel stomping on Bret's upper body, HHH drives a knee into Hart's quadricep muscle (coincidence?).

The Executioner arrives before his number is called and viciously attacks Taker with a sharp weapon. Meanwhile, Warrior works on Austin's lower back, Vader is tied up in the ropes with Yoko, and the tide turns in favor of Bret and Bulldog versus their opposition. Undertaker sits up and shoots an intense glare at The Executioner, then he chokeslams him and connects with a Tombstone Piledriver to the unprotected floor. The Executioner is ruled unconscious and therefore cannot participate in the Rumble.

Another Rumble favorite makes his entrance at #28 as Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker lock eyes from afar. Bret has Diesel trapped in the corner as he attempts a Figure-Four Leglock around the ringpost. Helmsley attacks Shawn and a sequence unfolds where his Pedigree is countered and he is backdropped over the top and to the apron, but HHH cannot regain his balance before tasting a little Sweet Chin Music.

Diesel escapes Bret's hold and catches Bulldog with a boot to the stomach. He attempts a Jacknife powerbomb near the ropes, but Bulldog overpowers him and Bret pulls down the top rope for a well-timed elimination. Surprisingly, Taker, Warrior, and Vader all join together to dump out Yoko, but it isn't until Austin jumps in that the big man is fully apprehended. Staying true to form, Austin drops Warrior soon after their combined effort.

The master and ruler of the world, Sid, pounds fists at #29 and takes it to HBK right off the bat. Austin stomps a mudhole in Warrior and sets him up for Vader to attempt his first Vader Bomb of the event. He warns Austin not to try anything funny with him like he did to Yoko earlier and Austin backs away for reassurance. Vader finally discards of Warrior with a stiff lariat and celebrates atop the turnbuckles. It's too bad that Vader forgets not to trust Austin as Stone Cold grabs him by the legs and heaves him over the top rope.

As soon as the ring clears, the final entrant makes his way down the aisle. Farooq is accompanied by Clarence Mason and he gets an up-and-close look at HBK's feet narrowly coming into contact with the floor. Sid is unable to send him to exile, so he drops a knee into Shawn's back to prevent him using his feet at all. Taker's double chokeslam attempt to Bulldog and Bret is reversed into a double suplex directly into the ropes. Following that, Hart family instinct kicks in and a good-ol fashioned Hart Attack is executed to perfection.

An incredible, over-the-top (literally!) sequence takes place next between Sid and The Heart Break Kid. Shawn rests against Sid to regain his balance and sends Sid through the ropes with some Sweet Chin Music. HBK exits through the ropes as well and ascends to the top rope, risking his own body to hit Sid with a devastating moonsault! However, Sid manages to hold on to HBK and wills himself to bring his opponent back into the ring for more punishment. HBK counters with a suplex to the outside apron and nails another SCM to an unsuspecting Sid, effectively eliminating him.

Farooq fights off Austin on the ring apron but is caught by a variation of the Stone Cold Stunner! Upon re-entering the ring, Austin grabs a handful of Farooq's tights and sends him over the top rope. HBK "skins the cat" and survives elimination yet again opposite Bulldog. Bret looks like he has Taker finished off, but The Deadman grabs Bret by the throat and chokeslams him to the mat while hanging on the ring apron. Thinking he's in the clear, Taker is unexpectedly met on the edge by the sole of HBK's boot and he falls to the floor below. Their eyes meet again, but now Taker sees that his hopes of making the final four have been dashed.

VJB's version of the Final Four is set and Austin wastes no time setting up Bret for a Stunner, but The Hitman is able to dodge the finisher at first. Stone Cold holds on to avoid elimination and manages to drop Bret on his shoulder for a Stunner between the ropes! HBK soars in for Sweet Chin Music, but Austin again sidesteps the competition. Unfortunately for him, two-thirds won't get the job done and the third man, Bulldog, spears Austin to knock him off the platform.

As the Rumble is down to only three, Bret and Bulldog again coexist to remove Shawn from the equation. Shawn's back is severely weakened by a backbreaker from Bret and Bulldog charging at him into the corner turnbuckles. Next, Bulldog signals for yet another Hart Attack and Bret knows to run the ropes. If only he knew that Bulldog would be waiting for him on the other end with an epic clothesline. In the wake of the damage, Bulldog scoops up his brother-in-law and tosses his body out for the second-to-last elimination.

We are down to only two and Shawn quickly jumps on Bulldog in the corner to keep him contained. He irish whips Davey Boy into the ropes and greets him with a clothesline of his own. After his signature kip-up, Shawn urges Bulldog to rise for a dose of Sweet Chin Music. Bulldog diffuses the situation by charging at Shawn, neutralizing his offense and keeping him stationary on the top turnbuckle. It doesn't last for long once HBK breaks free and looks to capitalize on a dazed Bulldog.

Shawn Michaels takes it to the air and attempts a moonsault to put an end to Bulldog for good, and it hits right on the money!

Somehow, Bulldog digs down deep and catches HBK! He shifts Michaels' weight into the running powerslam position and extends his body as far as it will go before releasing him. Shawn has nowhere to go but to the floor, and Bulldog's fortunes reach an all-time high.

Here is your winner of the first ever VJB Royal Rumble and VJB's inaugural champion, "The British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith!
